Simple Terms: World War II

World War II was a global war that lasted from 1939 to 1945. It involved many of the world's countries, including all of the great powers, and it is considered one of the deadliest conflicts in human history.

The war started with Germany's invasion of Poland, and it eventually led to the defeat of the Axis powers (led by Germany, Italy, and Japan) by the Allied powers (led by the United States, the United Kingdom, and the Soviet Union). The war resulted in millions of deaths, as well as significant political, social, and economic changes around the world.
